Beloved of Good Shepherd Church

Grace to you and peace in Jesus Christ our Lord!

Let’s all do something for Lent.

Lent is a time to do something different. What shift, however large or small, could you make in your life that would give you more margin for working on your relationship with God? Lent is a season of 40 days set apart for doing something a little bit different so that you can draw closer to God, perhaps in a new way.

This email is full of offerings that you might take on as your Lenten spiritual practice. Choose something and name it as your Lenten practice. There is power in intentionality. Set your intention for Lent, then say it out loud to God and someone else. Here are some possibilities.

I am going to participate in the Hymn Festival as a part of my Lenten spiritual practice.

I am going to go to Centering Prayer at the church once per week as my Lenten spiritual practice.

I am going to one of the Good Shepherd Bible Studies during March as my Lenten spiritual practice.

I am going to participate in 2 outreach activities as my Lenten spiritual practice.

I am going to attend Evensong on Wednesday evenings as my Lenten spiritual practice.

I am going to provide a meal for the Youth Group as a part of my Lenten spiritual practice.

I am going to prepare for confirmation or reception in the Episcopal Exploration classes as my Lenten spiritual practice.

Let’s all do something for Lent.

Set an intention and keep it.

Lent is for drawing close to God as we make our way to Easter.

Remember this always - God loves you, and I love you too!

Love is all,

Hendree+
