When and What is it?
Wednesdays at 7pm in the Worship Space.
Choral Evensong is a service of Evening Prayer sung by professional choirs in cathedrals and churches worldwide, from Westminster Abbey to here at Good Shepherd. Rooted in the ancient offices of Vespers and Compline, this centuries-old tradition invites you to experience sacred music while the choir offers evening prayers on behalf of the congregation. Whether you’re Anglican or Episcopalian, from another faith tradition, or simply seeking beautiful music and quiet reflection, Choral Evensong welcomes all.

A living tradition
When you attend Choral Evensong at Good Shepherd, you join a conversation between God and humanity that spans centuries and continents. This isn’t a concert—it’s an act of contemplative worship that connects you soul to soul across time and space. And yet, Choral Evensong does not demand anything of you. There is no sermon. You don’t have to sing. Only your intentionality and embodied presence is required.

Timeless
Our Evensong service draws its texts almost entirely from the Bible, proclaiming God’s works throughout history and in the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. While the traditional English may sound old fashioned, its meaning remains deeply relevant for today’s world.
Join us as we continue this ancient tradition of evening prayer and choral worship in the heart of Lexington.
