Patty Webb

Patty Webb was raised in Lexington, KY and attended Tates Creek High School where she played basketball for the Lady Commodores.  She went on to play basketball for the "Big Green" at Dartmouth College.  Patty obtained her bachelor's degree from Dartmouth and then worked in childhood obesity research at SUNY-Buffalo to support children and families in making healthy lifestyle changes.  She completed graduate coursework in Old Testament and New Testament studies at Duke Divinity School.  Patty also completed the four-year Education for Ministry certificate program through the School of Theology at Sewanee:  The University of the South.

After becoming a mother and enrolling her daughter Madeleine in a Montessori preschool program, Patty was inspired to work with children as a Montessori teacher.  She obtained her AMI diploma from The Montessori Institute of Denver and then worked with young children for seventeen years at Community Montessori School.  During this time, she also obtained her DONA postpartum doula certification to care for families with newborn infants.

Patty is passionate about nurturing the spiritual lives of children and families.  She served as the Children's Minister at Resurrection Episcopal Church before coming to Good Shepherd in 2022.  Patty currently serves as the Children and Families Minister at Good Shepherd Church and the chaplain to Good Shepherd Day School.  She loves sharing the stories of our faith with children using the Montessori-based spiritual formation practice called Godly Play.  Patty also loves supporting expectant and postpartum families as the facilitator of the Guild of the Christ Ministry and the Moms' Ministry group at Good Shepherd.

Outside of work, Patty enjoys Pilates, walking, reading the mystics, and spending time with family and friends.
