Applying the fruits of our study to our actual, everyday lives.

  • What is it?

We dive into the bible stories and look for ways that we can use what we find in our own real-life stories. We open with a few minutes of meditation, so this is a great place to learn about contemplative practice. Why “Applied”?  Our aim is to Apply the fruits of our study to our actual, everyday lives.

  • When and Where?

    Wednesday: 7:30am in the Library

    Sunday: 9:15am in the Undercroft

  • Current Study

Sunday: We read the Gospel reading appointed for that day.

Wednesday: We are reading The Letter to the Hebrews.

This letter was written to a struggling church in the late first century. The author urges the letter’s recipients to “let mutual love continue.” And “do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it.” The entire argument of the letter builds to this point: God is on record saying over and over again, “I will never leave you or forsake you.” Therefore we can say, “The Lord is my helper. I will not be afraid. What can anyone do to me?”  That question is a song of freedom that burst forth from followers of Jesus when they fully accept the endless companionship of God. Come join us to discover together the pathway to that great breakthrough. All are welcome!

All are Welcome to join! We keep a relatively slow reading pace, so no matter where we are in the scripture, you can jump right in!

  • Is there a catch?

Absolutely not. Come when you can; don't come when you can't. Come late; leave early. No pressure, no judgment (the world offers plenty of those two things).

You are free to come exactly as you are. The readings will prompt different questions for each of us; so, ask away or just listen. There are no stupid questions.

    All are Welcome!
