Acolyte Training

Acolyte Training is designed for beginning as well as experienced acolytes. Being an acolyte is an excellent way youth their understanding of the customs and traditions of your church as well as provide needed support for our overall worship experience. Acolytes are expected to serve at least one Sunday each month and occasionally two Sundays.

Duties involved include: Children's Chapel Crucifer, Torch Bearer, Processional and Clergy Crucifer, First and Second Server, and other duties as needed during a Sunday worship service.

Beginning acolytes are introduced to the basic duties and responsibilities of an acolyte and will typically begin serving as Children's Chapel Crucifer.

Experienced acolytes are provided with enhanced training for incrementally increased responsibilities. This includes: Gospel Processions, First and Second Server duties, Baptisms, and special services.

All youth aged 8 through Senior in High School are invited to be an acolyte.
