What your soul wants

No matter what you think you want, your soul, the deepest, truest part of you, wants God one thousand times more than it wants any created thing.

So, seek God first with all that you are and everything else will follow. Then that which you wish for and do not receive will seem to you like no-thing because God has filled your heart with His abiding presence, the infinity of His love, which is the only thing that will do the trick to calm the storm inside your chest.

Therefore don’t pray for any thing or even anybody. Instead let your prayer be an offering of your entire self to God, so that God finding you empty might fill you with all the fullness of His love. Then whatever you want will follow or fall into irrelevance as your desire for things and outcomes dissolves in God’s love. This is the pathway to peace not only for yourself, but for the people around you and even beyond your primary orbit. 

Put another way, don’t look for peace and justice, look for God and these things and more will follow as love changes….everything.
