Peace is not a brokered deal, it is a sacrifice made in love. Peace does not magically settle on the scene at the end of an argument won. Peace is a sacrifice made in love for the sake of love. The one who most wants peace takes the loss, sometimes at great cost, that is the meaning of the cross. None of this makes any sense which is why the Bible calls it the peace that surpasses understanding.
