Humility

Humility is a virtue for one reason - because it enables us to love more deeply. Humility comes our way as a gift when we assume an inner posture of openness through the work of self-reflection.

The humble are curious and endlessly useful. They are unoffendable. They are aware that in any given issue they may be wrong, they care little if at all for being right.  They are curious and full of authentic wonder. They know who they are and they know who they’re not.

The prideful are scared that you have something that they don’t have or that they will lose something that they possess. They are endlessly offendable because their certainty is grounded in self instead of God. Their offendable nature makes them troublesome to the community but the humble don’t mind too much because it’s just another thing upon which to practice patience and besides the prideful are infinitely loved by God just like everyone else.
